Every Monday there is a street market in the High Street, it occupies the High Street from end to end which is closed for the day. A very busy little market that attracts large numbers of visitors every week, summer or winter.

Every Thursday either in Saxon Square or the Waitrose car park is the Country Faye, starting at 9 a.m. stalls sell their goods from the country.

The first Friday of every month the Dorset farmers market will be found in the Saxon Square selling a wide variety of home grown produce. Not a weekly event but as near as damn it.

Includes pianist and guest soprano.

Aladdin 23rd - 30th January 2010

“New lamps for old”.  The award winning Charity Players have pulled off a real panto coup this year with the Stage Premiere of this hilarious version of Aladdin.  Penned by Simon Nye, creator of one of ITV’s most popular sit-coms, Men Behaving Badly, this was one of the best pantomimes ever to be broadcast on the small screen.  Indeed this was ITV’s panto for the Millennium in 2000 and boasted an all star cast including Julian Clary as the Genie, Paul Merton, Patsy Kensit, Martin Clunes and Griff Rhys Jones.  Aladdin promises to be a magic carpet ride of knockabout humour, singalong songs, audience participation, fabulous costumes, sumptuous sets and good clean family fun.  See it exclusively at the Regent with the one and only Charity Players.

Alfie 31st January 2010

Made famous by movies starring Michael Caine and more recently Jude Law, Alfie is the brilliant, original stage play about a young man with an overwhelming desire for the ladies. You might say that ‘birds’ are irresistible to him, sort of second nature. There's Ruby - ‘A lust box in beautiful condition’; Clare - ‘You're all lathered in sweat, Alfie’; and Siddie, and Clara, and Annie - but who's counting? Certainly not Alfie. Three in one evening if necessary. And necessary is the right word!
