Christchurch Dorset, England near the New Forest and Bournemouth, one of the most beautiful UK tourist areas on the South Coast of Britain. Holiday makers flock to the area as do day trippers all to enjoy our beaches and ancient history. The latter is displayed at the Red House Museum and at sites such as Hengistbury Head and St Catherine's Hill. Visitors to the area are supported by the local Tourist Information Centre, the Priory information services and Christchurch Borough Council.

Over the coming months we would like to build a picture of the history of the borough and are hoping you might assist by sending us any stories and photographs that tell the tales of the town.

If you dont have any material please speak with your parents and relatives on our behalf and see if they can contribute, the towns history needs to be recorded for those that follow us.

I remember being one of the scouts that marched through the town in the 60's but dont have any pictures. My mother has a photo of the parade that took place when MEXE was given the freedom of the borough. Where you there, do you remember the story, have I got it right, if you can help write to me and send in any pictures. Did you go to the nursery school at the Square House opposite the George? if so remind me, I was there for over a year but cant remember a thing about it.
